The Gerenuk, also called Waller's Gazelle, is a medium-sized antelope with a very long neck and small head. The ears are large for the size of the head. The coat is brown with a paler belly.

They differ from other gazelles in the way they browse the higher branches by standing on their hind legs, as can be seen in the thrid photo below.

The male has thick S-shaped horns.

It has a lifespan of about 10 - 12 years.
