White-bellied Go-away Bird

Corythaixoides leucogaster

Size: 51 cm
Habitat: Woodland, forest and thickets
Feeding: Mostly fruit, berries and seeds

The White-bellied Go-away Bird has grey plummage, a large crest of feathers and a white belly. It is a member of the turaco family.

It is a noisy bird and gets its name from its call "go-way".

This photo was taken in the Amboseli National Park, Kenya. There were a lot of these birds in the trees around our tented camp in Amboseli.
